If we move our body adequately and if the movement agrees with the 'natural laws', we still have a well-conditioned body and will not be affected so easily by disease. Our lives are part of the universal ki enclosed in the flesh of out bodies. Though we say that this is I, viewed with the eyes of the mind, it is actually the ki of the universal. Even though that ki is encased in flesh, it is in conflux with and active as a part of the universal. When we breathe, we breathe the ki of the universal in with our entire body. When the conflux of our ki and that of the universal is unimpaired, we are in good health and are lively. Ki Breathing is to activate and interchange with the Ki of the Universe. This is the best way to activate your life power and keep your health.

The concept of ki (life force) is familiar to students of Chinese qigong, who call this same energy ch'i or qi. Every culture has a similar word for the harmonizing principle of universal energy that animates all existence, or the vibrant force that activates life. In ancient Rome, it was aura in India, it was prana in Japan prior to World War II, it was reiki or reishi. Shamans and mediums are believed to be particularly sensitive to the flow of ki. In its concentrated form, ki may be perceived as light, which explains why seers and saints like the Buddha or Christ are often depicted with haloes divine light can actually be seen if one is perceptive enough.

Let me describe how to do self-Kiatsu which will assist you to maintain the health of mind and body. The first one is self-Kiatsu of the eyes. The self-Kiatsu, which is described in this book is a very limited application of Kiatsu therapy.
